Bandai Asahi National Park is the second largest national park in Japan, covering a vast area of Dewasanzan, Asahi Mountain Range, Iide Mountain Range, Azuma Mountain Range, Bandai Mountain, and Lake Inawashiro. It is a mountain with an altitude of 2,105m, which is the main peak of the Iide mountain range, and is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan. Along with the Asahi mountain range, it is also called the 'Tohoku Alps' and is lined with deep and gentle mountains. The foothills and hillsides of the Iide Mountains are covered with pristine forests. Primitive landscapes, including the primeval beech forest, still remain.

We will create a tourism program in collaboration with Oguni Town with the theme of eco-friendly content such as mountain climbing and forest therapy, as well as Matagi cultural experience facilities, restaurants, and accommodation facilities in the surrounding area.

Content creation and conservation project

We will preserve the Bandai Asahi National Park and the Iide Mountain Range and create natural tourism content that will revitalize the local economy. The natural environment such as forest therapy spots and Mt. Iide located in national parks will create tourism content that will continue in a sustainable manner, aiming to be a town with high levels of satisfaction for visitors, including inbound tourists.

Nukumidaira (in Bandai Asahi National Park)

Beech forest, Nukukumidaira, located in Bandai Asahi National Park. In April 2006, it was certified as the first forest therapy (R) base in Japan. There is a gentle and easy-to-walk promenade with a total length of about 5.5km, so even those who are not confident in their physical strength can enjoy a leisurely stroll. Enjoy the healing time that only the selected forest gives, surrounded by the scent of the forest and the sunlight through the trees.

Mt. Iide (100 famous mountains in Japan)

Mt. Iide is located on the prefectural border of Yamagata, Niigata, and Fukushima prefectures, and is a mountain that retains the remnants of ancient religious mountain climbing. Due to the flower fields of alpine plants and their depth, it has become a longing for climbers aiming to reach the summit of 100 famous mountains.

Tengu Bridge is a superb view point in the upper reaches of the Tamagawa River, where small streams of water gather little by little and are transparent to the emerald green, so you can even see the bottom of the river. In autumn, the trees on the riverside to the top of the mountain are dyed red, and you can enjoy the contrast of nature.

One of the 100 famous waterfalls in the world. It consists of 7 steps of waterfalls. After climbing the Kajikawa ridge, which is a steep climb from Iide Sanso, for about 3 hours, you will arrive at Takimijo. A phantom waterfall that allows you to approach the waterfall from late May to early June only in years when there is a large amount of snowy valley. (It can be reached by climbing a river even when there is no snowy valley)

A pass connecting Taruguchi and Kotamagawa. From the observatory, you can overlook the magnificent panorama of the Iide Mountains. Also, near the summit, you can see a solitary cherry tree blooming in the remaining snow. The type of cherry blossom is Oyamazakura, which is common in the Tohoku region, and it blooms from late April to early May, when there is still plenty of snow around it.

The Asahi mountain range, which represents Bandai Asahi National Park, is located on the border between Yamagata and Niigata prefectures, and is a mountainous area extending 60km north and south with Mt. Asahi at an altitude of 1,870m as the main peak. The mountain climbing and trekking course from Oguni Gomizawaguchi is attractive for its primitive landscape with abundant alpine plants and giant trees over 300 years old. While enjoying trekking, you can challenge three suspension bridges, Oishi Bridge, Shirafu Bridge, and finally Kakunara Bridge, which is said to be the thinnest in Japan.

About everyone's KAMOS"Q" fund

YOKAMOS, a general incorporated association, is a business creation group where challengers from inside and outside the region gather. From here, we will tackle not only regional issues but also global issues. In particular, I would like to gather wisdom and actions with people from all over the world who work with the same thoughts on issues related to food, water, and energy, and work together as an earthling. Therefore, we have decided to establish this fund including Mt. Iide in order to cherish forest life and pass on the conservation and activities of the forest to the future. While aiming for the big goal of registering Bandai Asahi National Park as a World Heritage Site, we will continue to develop our business while utilizing this fund for the project in front of us. We sincerely hope that as many people as possible will be involved in our activities, and that we can live a life together and spend a rich time together.

YOKAMOS, located in Oguni Town at the foot of Mt. Iide, Yamagata Prefecture, will establish a fund to grow Bandai Asahi National Park as a World Heritage Site while tackling the issues related to energy related to food and water that exist on the earth.
